    This is part of a series of short stories all set in a future world. The number system established in this story is very similar to the VIN code used in the automotive industry and is based on the date, time, and location of a person's birth.

    This story may have several different meanings and interpretations. I have found a few explanations for the scenario, but know there are more. Even though I wrote this, I am at a loss for explaining what exactingly is transpiring.

    I enjoy historical sites and old buildings, and often wonder who was there before me. I wrote this after pondering all of the insignificant connections, which are made everyday, between the events of the past and what is happening now.

    In this story, I focused on mixing in poetic resonance with the structure of a short story. It could have been written as 6, 3-line stanzas, but I feel that would detract from the overall flow, especially with the last line.

    The idea for this story came from a the concept that the know universe could be something small enough to be contained inside of a marble, and yet to us, it is unimaginably expansive.

    About Me
    I'm current a student obtaining a Bachelor's in Business Management. I've been writing short stories since sophomore year of high-school, have had a poem publish internationally, and am currently working on a novel; a collection of first person reflections, told from the perspective of multiple deceased characters, loosely based on the history of a small mid western town, with interweaving story-lines between characters. For the most part what I write just comes to me. Most of the time I get an idea for a vague passage that happens in the middle of the story, and may be completely unrelated to anything, and everything else just falls in place. Sometimes, I don't even know what the story is about until I re-read it days later.
