unblock
So much has been written about writer's block and tricks to unblock that I wonder if there is such a thing as block? Why is it that there's no musician's block, dancer's block? May be because writing begins from zilch, afterall it's a blank screen and a sketch of an idea. An artist on the other hand can just paint his unwashed coffee mug and musician has a set of notes to construct around but a writer roams in space. Poor guy clueless he starts on a journey that drains him and then he might just give it up as bad work. May be more than a block there is the fear of failure, diffidence to face the harsh world, and distractions like livelihood, heart breaks and child rearing. If he had a support system, disciplining partner or just some body to nudge and guide he would simply find his way around the block. I wrote a blogtounblock literally to overcome a block for one whole year after five years of non writing. Writer's need a mentor or sympathetic friends more than any artist because their creative process tends to be longer than others'.
The Challenge
Find a partner who is symapthetic and has known a block.
Log on to some sort of mentor or teacher.
Create a space to unblock, like a blog or a diary; just thrash it out.
Don't give in to a distraction like a new love because nothing can replace writing.
Stay away from junta because they simply can't comprehend.
And like I said elsewhere pray because you here by God's design.
