when i witnessed the shooting i had no idea what could follow. i saw 20 innocent people get gunned down by a crazy drug dealer. he carried the lifeless bodies two at a time to the beach. he flung them out to the ocean where the swaying waves covered them up. as soon as i got over the shock i ran as fast as i could to my house. i locked the door and slumped againist the wall. all i knew was that i needed to get it together.i was a detective for crying out loud! i picked up the phone and dialed the police with sure fingers. as i waited scary replayings of the shooting played through my head. when the police finally answered i was in cold sweat. i told them i was at the grocery store when i passed the alleyway. i explained the shooting and how i hid by some wooden crates. they promise to keep watch on my house and me.i walked up to my room and sat on the tile floor. i could not fall asleep for hours. when daylight came i was still on the floor wrapped in a blanket. i awoke with my neck as stiff as a board. i got dressed in a red shirt, black pants, and a white overcoat and sped out the door. i drove to in stone silence. my mind was not letting me forget last night. i told myself i wouldn't rest till i figured out the mystery of the shooting. i got on the farmers road and headed to that alleyway. when i got there it was taped in and police were roaming the area. i got out of the car and headed tot he scene. the police there wouldn't let me in, but i showed them my badge and looked around.

blood was spilled everywhere and a black gun was off to the side. i went over and got out my kit. i scooped some blood into a tube and stoppered it. i went over to the gun and was able to get some fingerprints. i took the gun as evidence and sped to headquarters. the main computer identified the finger prints as bob wheeler a 30 year old vet. he must have lost it i thought. the blood was found as lucy wheeler, miranda selan, kellie houston, and freddie gunn. i looked in shock at the victims names. all were my partners in the detective buisness. i got chilled to the bone but refused to cry. i walked home in horror. when i went to my house i saw the door was unlocked. i drew my gun and tiptoed in. i saw bob in my bedroom planting a bomb. i quickly got him in a head lock. he stuttered but his grip slackened. i got him to the police cruiser outside my house. the policeman was asleep or dead. i rapped on the window. he opened one eye. he was asleep. "you idiot" i said. "he snuck into my room and planted a bomb while you were getting your beauty sleep"! the policeman looked flustered as he opened the door. i shoved bob in the back and got in the seat. as soon as we drove away my house exploded into a million pieces. when we got to police headquarters bob was waking up. i held onto him and drove him up the steps. as soon as we got indoors the police took him to questioning. "you solved the mystery huh"? the cheif said. "yep i sure did". but little did i know the mystery was barely over yet.
